Security Engineer (SOC, IAM)

Job Summary: The Security Engineer will play a key role in safeguarding our organization’s digital infrastructure. They will be responsible for implementing security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data.

HYBRID – This role will be based out of 

 located on the 4th Floor, Airport Road, Kodihalli, Bangalore- 560008.  Our expectation at this time, is that you would work from our office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays with flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

The Security Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, IT operations, and compliance, to integrate security best practices across the organization. Additionally, they will manage cloud, endpoint, and application security, oversee identity and access management (IAM), and contribute to the effectiveness of our Security Operations Center (SOC). The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of modern security tools and techniques, with a focus on proactive risk management and incident response.

Essential Duties:

Focuses on implementing security measures, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents.

Cloud, Endpoint, and Application Security:

  1. Design, implement, and manage security solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  2. Utilize security capabilities such as AWS Inspector, WAF, GuardDuty, IAM, Azure Security Center, and Azure AD.
  3. Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools.
  4. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
  5. Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, and documentation.

Application Security:

  1. Lead application security initiatives, including penetration testing using Burp Suite.
  2. Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
  3. Perform code reviews and security assessments.
  4. Secure cloud-based applications and infrastructure using AWS.
  5. Stay current with application security trends and threats.

Identity and Access Management (IAM):

  1. Lead the design, implementation, and management of IAM solutions.
  2. Develop and enforce IAM policies, standards, and procedures.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IAM solutions.
  4. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify IAM-related risks.
  5. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IAM team members.

Security Operations Center (SOC):

  1. Lead SOC operations, including tool management (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Kusto, LogRhythm).
  2. Develop and enforce SOC policies, standards, and procedures.
  3. Oversee incident response processes.
  4. Manage security incidents and tickets.
  5. Conduct regular security assessments and audits.

Common Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with internal stakeholders, such as development teams and IT operations, to integrate security best practices.
  2. Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts.
  3. Focuses on solving technical security problems, such as vulnerability remediation and incident response.
  4. Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  5. Apply AI coding techniques to enhance security measures.
  6. May provide guidance to junior engineers on specific tasks or projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must Have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.      Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
  2. Minimum 4 years of experience in security engineering (cloud, endpoint, application, IAM, or SOC).
  3. Extensive experience with AWS and Azure security capabilities.
  4. Proficiency in security tools (Burp Suite, Microsoft Defender, EDR, IAM solutions, SOC tools).
  5. Relevant certification (CISSP, AWS Certified Security Specialty, OSCP, CEH, AZ-500).

Good to Have:

  1. Master’s degree in a related field.
  2. Experience in a leadership role.
  3. Knowledge of cloud security, DevSecOps practices, and tools.
  4. Proficiency in .NET, C#, Java, Okta, OneLogin, SailPoint, SIEM, SOAR, UBA, and Threat Intelligence.
  5. Additional certifications (CCSP, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, CISM, CISA).

Skills:

  1. Cloud security frameworks and best practices.
  2. OWASP Top 10 and secure coding practices.
  3. IAM principles.
  4. SOC principles, practices, and frameworks.
  5. Leadership and mentorship skills.
  6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
